I’m jealous! How many bushes provided these? Wondering how many I need to add 🤣 we have two and they disappear pretty much at the rate they’re ripening because they’re too delicious!

I never seen a purple gooseberry before. Are they less tart?
Such an underrated fruit! I’ve just been baking gooseberry and almond streusel squares and jam! The topping and tailing is the worst bit 😂

Are they worcesterberries? Sure look close.
Do they have a blackcurrant flavour mixed with gooseberry, and vicious thorns?
Genuinely intrigued by the lovely colour. Lucky you.

I did the same this year just let five wild gooseberry plants maybe 6/8 yrs old and last year I did no pruning as I am not good at it so I let grow go wild no pruning looks untidy as they can grow long and dangly when in fruit season, but by heck did I get some gooseberries green and enough to let the rest ripe to a purple. Yes so what I’ve learnt is them are wild berries and you should let them grow wild. Keep the trails above ground level.

I’d be eating those as I pick and I really love gooseberries. I am slightly jealous of your harvest and hope you get ot enjoy it all soon.
