My aloe vera is roughly 4 years old and is in succulent soil, the plant pot it’s in sits on top of some gravel where when it’s watered the plant isn’t sat in the water

Over the last 6 months it’s developed these black/brown patches and they are spreading 😬 thought it might be overwatering or lack of sun (it’s not in direct sunlight) so tried more sun for a couple of weeks but it did not help. Tried wiping the patches but they are not coming off

Hoping it’s not thrips, maybe it’s rust fungus? 🤞

    Sorry my comment is probably irrelevant but my aloe also suffered its death by thrips!!!!! I was so shocked to see thrips be on such a thick plant ?? I always thought they prefer thin leaves. For me, nothing helped to save my plant. It probably suffered a long painful death 🙁 I tried showering it and wiping it and spraying it with an oil-dishsoap solution. And it just died. So I feel u
