[Applause] I was all ready to go make a lovely hot chocolate to make this lint chocolate go bit further I use a teaspoon of that and a teaspoon of cocoa powder half milk half water I was all ready to make it and the milk that had got left had only got that much left and it was dated the first and it’s the first today but had gone off so I’ve gone out to a Tescos and it’s half past 3 and I always look and see if there’s anything jued and as you can see there was I paid the regular price for the milk and I’ve got whole milk this time45 I got baking Canon there that was can me see3 down to1 41 this I’m going to have for my tea Tha green green chicken curry 325 down to 231 and they had quite a few of these Rose Dean Farms that’s their cheaper range Pairs and there five in the packet 99 P down to 51 p and I got two of those it’s always worth having a look at the reduce section and see much reduced all in all I spent £69 I did think this baking cam bear would be nice in a jacket potato it’s a lot cooler today yesterday was a lovely day I was out pottering in the garden and having a really nice time I love gardening for for I’ve changed my mind I was going to separate well I still am all these tomato plants I was going to put them on into this compost but I think it’s too rich because those roots were all tangled together so I’m going to pick the best ones out of here and chew do six well I could do 12 I suppose and pop them on and I thought I’d try grow some of this this is what I gathered last Autumn for September some of it’s wheat and some of it’s barley so I think I’ll plant some of that see if we can get that to grow here a done in day it’s about 18° everything’s coming coming out now and budding coming to leave for for and there we are little mini Greenhouse made I put some stones in in case it gets windy so they don’t blow it all the way but I should come out every day I’m going to pop them back in the car watch bik there have a tidy up make a cup of tea and maybe come and sit under the tree and just have five minutes shall we go out and bring the rest of the potatoes in from the garage what’s this week 15 if I’d have bought I think if I’d have bought one more bag at Christmas I would have had enough potatoes to last me Easter just starting to sprout look I just rub that off I found a carrot clearly clearly the carrots don’t keep us long that’s all the potatoes I shall throw that away but I bought the these potatoes the week before Christmas when all the special offers were on in the supermarkets from or from 8p to 15p and I stored some in this wicker basket with leaves and it was actually on top of here I think the sack worked better as you can see there was air flow underneath and OB air going through the sack so I think the air flow is um key to it really because when I was take I took the vegetables out of this first and somewh it did feel a little bit damp in there even though it’s a wicker basket but there we are that’s the potato experiment done take care people

  1. Your garden looks so lush and green … mine's just beginning to green up after a week of rain ! Wish I had the stamina to really garden again , but I certainly enjoy seeing what you can do both indoors and outside ! Have a good week , Jill !

  2. Hi Gill, I’m amazed at how long those potatoes lasted! I know you love your little deal hunting trips but have you ever thought of collecting surplus waste food through the Olio App? I pretty much never have to buy bread because I collect from people nearby and it helps to minimise waste!

  3. I could happily listen to and watch you for hours.👍 Great price on the pears. Today, I noticed a baby tomato 🍅 on one of my plants that I started from a seed. It's amazing to watch nature grow and produce. Have a peaceful and productive week, Jill. 😀💚🌱🌾

  4. I'm definitely going to try the veg storing thing with the leaves and sacks this winter…if the suermarkets do the veg offer. I grew tomatos last year but sadly they plants got tomato blight just as the fruit was ready to ripen so I had to throw the whole lot out…I'll try again this year and see if I can do better.

  5. The cheese is very well dated to be reduced am I correct that it was 16th April ?
Well done on keeping the potatoes for 15 weeks. The only item from my Christmas veg store to last until this week is a swede it had a few sprouts but still edible. I had some parsnips but they’re like your carrot a bit wizened, they’ll go into our compost bin. I hope your tomatoes will be ok outside.

  6. Hello to you from New Zealand I am a true Yorkshire last aged 90 having lived here for the past 20 years. I enjoy your videos immensely and it’s good to hear your Yorkshire accent bringing him back familiar memories. I would be interested to know whereabouts you live as you often mention HARROGATE, WARTHERBY, SELBY etc which are all familiar to me as I lived close to York

  7. Your tomato seedlings are looking very strong and healthy 🍅🌱👍 Tomorrow I'm going to pot on mine as well.
