My partner’s mom gave us this plant and it looked way better. She told me it was easy to take care of, but I think i may just have little experience with plants. I’ve tried watering it more, i’ve tried leaving it alone, I’ve tried more sun, less sun. The little white specs are not bugs. I have no idea what they are! If someone could help out please do! It feels a little droopy and almost sticky sort of?

  1. It seems like you have more pest on your plant than the soil in your pot. I think you better start over with another plant.

Kalenchoe are pretty hard to kill. Whew. Find the healthiest branch, snip it, and place it in a small amount of water to propagate it. They propagate well. Should grow roots soon to repot and start over. I’ve done it a dozen times. 😂

Quarantine that right away unless you want bugs on your other plants

Can you inform us what is the name of the plant you were growing?

Those little white specs are definitely bugs. They look like either whiteflies or spider mites. They’re sucking the sap from your plant, that’s why it’s so limp and sad.

The bugs are definitely bugs, sort of. They are the shed skin of aphids. The actual aphids are elsewhere by now, but will have been eating the plant.

I would honestly just chuck this one and get another. It happens to us all at some point.

Just get a new one… she will never know

  8. Oh that thing is infested! Honestly I would just toss it out.
