Went to Sainsbury's (UK grocery store) to get some bits for lunch with my sister tomorrow. Trolley of very sad looking plants in the entrance to the store. Glanced over but they all looked pretty sad and neglected and I'm not yet at the stage of my plant keeping journey where I'm confident enough to rehab plants 😅
Then, on the top shelf, almost glowing amongst the sad plants, was this beauty. I believe she's satin pothos, which was on my wish list, pretty mature by the looks of it, with moss pole, in what looks to me like excellent condition! I practically squealed with delight but then figured she'd be expensive…
She was £16 (about $21). £16?! I was looking at £15-£25 for a much smaller, younger plant online. I grabbed her and carried her around the whole store with me, which is no mean feat as a wheelchair user (electric, so free hand, but still).
Totally delighted, and I really hope you all think she's as spectacular as I think she is…

So you’re telling me that this fence cover invasive plant is something called satin pothos? Sounds too elegant by the name
she’s a stunner for sure, but that’s a golden pothos – satin would have almost silver splashes vs pale/yellow and leaves have a softer almost fabric feel. but these are super easy to propagate so congrats you now have an endless supply of potential plants!
Sainsbury’s tend to have the best plants for a uk supermarket in my opinion . Good luck with your new plant 🪴
That’s a great price. I think it’d be around £45 for a similar sized one at B&Q.

Just attached my pothos to a pole this am. I’m over here showing her what she can glow up to be.
I bought one of these recently and I seem to be killing it! It came with a few black holes in some of the leaves and now some of the other leaves are going black. (I may have overwatered it since).
I hope yours fairs better than mine!
