What’s under the dry patch on my lawn?

people have been uncovering massive stones under dry patches on their lawn i think it’s time I finally find out why no matter what I do this spot here on my lawn keeps drying out every year so today we are hopefully going to change that honestly though I don’t even know what I’m going to do if I do find a huge rock buried here like how am I even supposed to remove it anyways after removing about an inch or so of dirt which was probably added by the landscapers before they added the sod I then encountered some super hard clay and really I was hoping that would be all that was causing the issues with my lawn but as I kept digging I just kept getting more and more clay which the grassroots could not penetrate which was probably what was causing my lawn to dry out every summer then after removing about 6 in of clay I thought I hit a huge root but instead I would go on to find some construction debris that was just left behind during the building of my house just 5 years ago honestly I’m surprised I’m able to grow grass anywhere on my yard seeing how they take care of the property while under construction at this point I was about 8 in deep and thought this was deep enough for the grass to be able to thrive going forward and now I would need to replace all that clay with some quality soil and luckily I had plenty of soil I had removed from my yard when I was building my shed but it still had quite a bit of large rocks in it so I screened it before adding it back into my lawn one thing I always worry about when adding new soil to my lawn is the amount of settling I may see in the coming weeks so I used a plate compactor to prevent that from ruining my lawn especially now that I’ve come pretty close to getting a smooth lawn since I started last year with my lawn leveling journey now I can finally put the saw back in place and I soaked it with water and then overseated just this section and used some soil and sand mix to smooth out any imperfections and in the coming weeks hopefully we will see that this repair will have fixed the dry section and will have recovered and be completely unnoticeable so there you have it no large rocks found here just some hard clay and construction debris

    I find that most videos about finding treasure in their backyard… are staged.
    So it was a nice change of pace for him to just completely ignore it!
