first two photos are the “Gregg’s mistflower”
i got on facebook marketplace- the third is my established Gregg’s.

i do not think it is really a gregg’s.

I thought / hoped maybe because it’s a baby it looks different but …. maybe i got scammed ? the leaves don’t change that much right ??

i am hoping at least it is another type of mist flower (i looked it up)—-not as good as gregg’s & can be a little invasive 🙁 but butterflies still appreciate ?

totally my fault for not double checking !!!

Probably blue boneset, aka blue mist flower. The flowers look exactly the same as Gregg’s. But it blooms later in the summer/fall and gets humongous. I cut mine to the ground after last frost, and it comes back with gusto. When it blooms it is absolutely MOBBED by butterflies and bees. It blooms at just the right time for all the monarchs passing through, and they sure do love it.

Probably some kind of mistflower. I have both Conoclinium coelestinum and Ageratina havanensis. This looks more like Ageratina havanensis.

To me it looks like white mistflower. Those leaves look like mine anyways. A bigger shrub compared to Greggs

It looks exactly like my while mist flower.

Third photo is the Gregg’s mistflower, others are fragrant mistflower. I grow both. Fragrant mistflower smells amazing (hence the name) with white flowers. It’s more of a woody stemmed shrub than the Gregg’s which is a soft stemmed sometimes floppy groundcover. Fragrant mistflower, in my experience, struggles more in the sun and heat than the Gregg’s and will appreciate some shade but both are pretty easy to grow.
