Because when I till up my yard, mix in fertilizer, spend a couple hundred on seed, it doesn’t look anything like this

The maintenance required to get a Bermuda lawn looking like yours is ten fold that of a Fescue lawn. If you can turn it into your full time job, more power to you but the rest of us clock in somewhere other than home.

It’s cause propaganda by big seed and weed. They can’t sell you all the fixes for your lawn if it just grows good and perfect.

Supposed to be because the sodded Bermuda has finer blades and can be cut lower. Common Bermuda has coarser blades and shouldn’t be cut below 1.5 inches.
All that said, the random bits of wild Bermuda I have in my yard grow way the hell more aggressive and thicker than the hybrid Bermuda. I cut at 1.5 inches anyway cause of the bumps in the yard. I’d be perfectly fine if it took over.
