The Master Gardeners of Walker County has started a website for people to learn more about the group’s efforts.
The website, https://mastergardenersofwalkercounty.org/, launched this week and was reportedly designed by intern London Perry.
“We are beaming with pride at the time, talent, and hard work he has poured into our community,” the Master Gardeners shared on Facebook. “We feel truly blessed to have him and his incredible family as part of the Master Gardeners of Walker County family!”
Its homepage first states the Master Gardeners’ mission, “empowering each other to create thriving gardens, providing gardening education to hone your skills, and community service through hands-on workshops, educational outreach and community projects.”
There is an “about us” section that introduces some members of the Master Gardeners of Walker County: President Sandra Courington, Vice President Kara Osborne, and Treasurer Ricky Burton.
Upcoming and past events are listed on the webpage as well, along with blog posts to keep people educated about the Master Gardeners’ activities.
Master Gardeners of Walker County is an extension of the Alabama Master Gardeners Association (of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System). Members of Master Gardeners can utilize the new website to report volunteer hours.
You may also keep up with the group on the Master Gardeners of Walker County Facebook page, where they share recent happenings and educational information.
They meet every fourth Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Walker County Extension Office at 1501 N. Airport Road in Jasper. Anyone who is interested in flowers, vegetable gardening, etc. is welcome to join.
