Having trouble keeping your garden fountain clean? Meee tooo! This post is full sarcasm and it’s basically a part-time job if you do it wrong! If I’m being brutally honest, I still love it this way, but can’t keep up! Here are a few helpful tips and yes, I don’t even practice them myself, except for the strainer! Do as I say and not as I do! I googled some hacks and this is what it told me to do! Anyone have any other suggestions that keep their fountain looking fresh…especially in brutal summer heat?! 1. Use a Fine Mesh Skimmer or Strainer – Regularly scoop out leaves, petals, and bugs. 2. Add a Small Pond Net Over the Basin – It catches debris before it sinks. 3. Use a Fountain Cleaner or Enzyme Treatment – Prevents algae and mineral buildup. 4. Install a Pre-filter on the Pump – Helps catch gunk before it clogs. 5. Place it Away from Trees & Heavy Pollinators – Less mess from leaves, pollen, and bird droppings. 6. Top Off with Distilled Water – Reduces mineral deposits.

Too late. I put a concrete bird bath under a crepe myrtle and have to clean it all the time.
