hey guys welcome back to my backyard it is the first day of summer 2025 and things are really popping right now uh everything is looking really good i got lots of fruit coming in i think like I’m hitting a turning point of where my uh garden is no longer like a young garden but now it’s like actually producing a good amount of fruit on a lot of different trees and plants like this so I’ll show you today uh what’s going on all over my uh garden here start over here these are like six-year-old plants grown from tops of pineapples from the stores and I’ve already picked uh I think three pineapples or maybe four but check check this out awesome this is almost ready to pick don’t want it to get it too yellow cuz I actually got too sweet i like it still with some uh tartness to it got another one there i already picked uh one from over there got three more here i already picked another one from there and these just uh thrive on neglect i don’t do anything to them uh I don’t water them don’t fertilize them don’t do anything and they just keep growing every year let’s go around here this is my jaba tree hasn’t done anything seems to be doing okay um still no flowers or fruits this is I got this in uh late 2020 so we’re coming up on 5 years and it was already a good size when I got it so Jaba Deacabas take a long time to produce fruit one day but so far so good all right let’s go around to the backyard all right let’s start uh over here with my mangoes start all the way with this mango tree this is my honey kiss i actually just picked one uh well one fell off a few days ago and I actually just ate it and it was pretty good it was really small definitely a uh not fully mature fruit but it was good my first honey kiss I’ve ever had in my life got you can see three more here these are supposed to be a late season the tree is still pretty small i know a lot of people would not even let it hold on to these three but I figure I don’t care i actually don’t care about stunting the growth of my trees because I want to keep them small so nice looking little tree here i got this um January 2022 uh no 2023 so just over two years ago first time producing fruit made four fruit already ate one and uh over here is actually my uh macak sapadia i moved it over used to be uh over in the back of my yard but I didn’t really like it there it was getting eaten by Sri Lankan weevils uh it was kind of waste of a space it’s taking a long time to grow i got this uh Februaryish 2021 um so it’s over four years old and still hasn’t done much i’ve never picked a fruit from it you’ll see from my other Sapodia tree this one is way behind the other one show you that in a sec it’s awesome um it is starting to push some fruit um push some new growth out of all the little branches planted this here uh couple months ago or maybe three or four months ago so it’s looks like it’s getting uh growing out of its uh shock and it’s going to push out some new growth finally um this is my coconut cream mango tree this made one one mango this year i ate it you can see that video it’s already up really nice little fruit actually it was a pretty big fruit uh but it was really good nice little tree just pushed out some new growth this is all nice new growth here i got this uh July 2023 so almost 2 years ago it made one tiny fruit that I actually ate last year made one nice big fruit this year coconut cream is not supposed to produce well at early ages which this is doing but uh in a few years I’m hoping to get lots of uh yummy coconut cream mangoes i’ll show you this really quick this is my uh young hens gold white sapote that I just got uh less than a year ago earlier this year actually uh just pushed out some new growth kind of was growing uh sideways so I kind of cropped it up a little little tiny tree see how that does white sapote i’ve actually never even had white sapote but they’re supposed to be really good and they’re supposed to produce well so looking forward to that and I’ll show you my big mama tree my Alfonso mango tree now Alfonso mango is not supposed to do well in Florida this tree does not listen to that because I’ve already picked 23 mangoes and check out how many are still here i counted a little while ago that there were I counted 110 mangoes these are so good the only negative thing is they’re really small they are tiny tiny mangoes but man they pack a punch they are so flavorful so good there are just so many see a lot of the ones that aren’t in the sun aren’t getting the uh the color that the ones in the sun are but there’s just so many hidden away and it just pushed out a ton of new growth that’s covering a bunch of the mangoes there’s like a bunch hidden back in here that you can’t see because they didn’t put on the color so they kind of blend in deep inside there’s another one um yeah i still think there’s at least a hundred in here there’s a whole bunch up on top whole bunch around here got a little nest in there there’s another one there’s a bunch on this side three more right there a bunch right there a bunch all over yeah I’m going to cut this back a big time uh I cut it back last year after I picked the last one i mean you can see here where I cut it especially on this one i cut that back all the way and it already pushed out a ton of new new growth there cut that branch off and cut this off right there that already pushed out a huge new huge new branch so I’m going to do it again um I’m thinking I’m going to try to graft something there’s a really good uh tree over at my HOA park that makes such good mangoes i think it’s like a malikica that I might want to try to graft onto this cuz this is really good the only thing I don’t like is the size of the mangoes and they have a really big pit so there’s like not a whole lot of meat on it but man the taste is so good there’s just so many up in there awesome great great tree moving on here this is my new royal gold that I just got this past spring little tiny tree hasn’t done anything yet hasn’t even pushed out any new growth but uh see what happens with that those are actually some seedling papayas that I grew from seeds from a papaya that I bought from the store see what happens with those um over here is my pickering mango tree i’ve picked five mangoes i’ve also lost three to animals so which is why I kind of bagged up the rest here uh there’s some back here that I didn’t bag nice little tree so uh I think I have one two three four five six i think I just have six left and I picked uh a total of eight so it looks like I’m going to get 14 mangoes from this there’s a nice big one i already uh started eating them they’re so good really nice um coconut flavor tastes like a pinina cola but this tree I got um this tree I got in February 2022 so this is now 3 years old nice little uh dwarf tree really looking forward to getting a lot of pickerings they’re really good this year was the first year I actually got to taste real picker cuz last year I made five but they were not that good with a little tree little fruits but uh I really like the pickering this year really good that’s all my mango trees moving over here this is my Gffer adamoya pushed out a lot of new growth i cut it back uh you can see I cut it right there over the winter and it pushed out those two branches from there and I also cut it right there and it pushed out all those new branches it did actually make some flowers but they fell off this little tree uh I don’t think it hold fruit but it’s a good sign that it made flowers i got this last fall so it’s looking good over here is my pace mameapote i was really thinking this would make some fruit this had so many flowers on it a few months ago and it had a whole bunch of little P-sized fruit and every single one fell off so this year was not the year for my meapotes maybe next year it’s growing a lot of nice new branches it looks like it’s pushing out some new flower buds so we’ll see what happens see all the Oh well so uh yeah it’s looking healthy it’s growing so slow i got this in uh February 2021 so that’s uh over four years old now super slow growing next here is my Sugar Bell mandarin this is supposedly a citrus greening disease resistant uh citrus tree it is uh having some trouble even though it is uh resistant to citrus screening it is not resistant to leaf miner and it’s just taken a toll on this it’s just hard to keep these pests away it does have a fruit here made another one but it fell off uh pretty recently um I actually uh drenched it with the pesticide to try to try to do something about all these pests we’ll see if it works i don’t know but man citrus is tough even with the uh resistant varieties all the other pests still get it so we’ll see what happens there next my second pride and joy after my Alfonso mango is my silus wood sapadia look at this thing have you ever seen such a small tree with so many fruit on it this thing is a beast i mean there’s like almost more sapadillas than there are leaves how crazy is this tree these are so good just all over look at this so many fruit on this little tiny tree got a couple back here that are almost ready to pick that one’s should be ready that’ll ripen if I picked it right now but I’ll leave it on same with uh this one this one will ripen on the counter but I’m not in any rush so many so many fruit on this sapadia tree and it just keeps pushing out more there’s always flowers coming out there’s always these little little new ones this tree just doesn’t stop making fruit it’s amazing get a silus wood sapia onward this is my uh Carrie starf fruit tree this just pushed out a whole lot of new growth i just got this about a year ago check this out got a starf fruit right there it just made a bunch of star fruits that all fell that one’s still hanging on any others hanging on this tiny tree i’ve already picked a few star fruits that were really good not sure if there’s any more hanging out but it just keeps making them like I pick one like every few months so there’s not even like a uh starf fruit season on this there’s another little one hanging on never mind not hanging on but it just keeps making them just keeps producing kind of like the sapodia just one after another that’s cool over here interesting little situation I got going on this is my sour soft tree and I’ve been having some trouble over the past like year or two with something eating all the leaves and it was almost defoliated and I finally realized it’s the um iguanas that were eating the leaves so I built this to try to keep the iguanas away and uh it’s pretty much working so you can see it’s all bushy now i’ve not had a sour sap from this tree yet but it is flowering right now got a flower right there there’s a bunch of flowers that just coming out now so there’s another flower pod lots of flowers i think this is the size where it can make some fruit and hold on to them cuz there are some other sour trees in my neighborhood that uh are about this size maybe a little bit bigger that are just loaded with fruit which is an awesome sign so I am looking forward to this having some fruit soon could see like here is where the iguana damage is i think the iguanas are still getting onto it but at least I’m making them harder because I still am noticing some new leaves that are getting eaten but at least it’s not as bad as it used to be i also noticed some branches that were broken which I think they were just snapping from their weight damn iguanas then over here is my jackf fruit tree this thing’s a beast i actually uh cut off like the top five feet of it and it’s still massive i got this in uh December 2020 so about uh 4 and 1/2 years ago it uh flowered for the first time a whole bunch a few months ago but I believe they were all male flowers which is what jackf fruits are supposed to do they come out with the male flowers first and then the female flowers which turn into fruit so I did not get any female flowers all the male flowers fell off but I believe that is a good sign for next year having female flowers turning into fruit so I am expecting jackf fruits next year this tree is definitely big enough to hold them this is a golden nugget which are supposed to be smaller fruit small round fruit so I do believe this could hold on to them so next year should get some jackf fruit next to that I got my seedling coconut palm this is like 6 years old now finally starting to get big no idea when I’m going to get actually coconuts from this probably not for a while but it’s pretty cool that this all started from a coconut that sprouted on the ground and then next to that my bananas my namo bananas are actually finally starting to look really good these were struggling for a while but uh these are looking good now i did uh fertilize them like a few months ago i think that helped big time and then all the rain this summer finally starting to look good have not gotten bananas from this yet they used to be over on the other side of my yard but I moved them over uh a couple years ago now got my little fig tree finally starting to come around got a fig there and then I got one more my last tree in front of my house is my loquat my Oliver loquat which is just also a beast this thing has just grown so fast gave me a nice amount of fruit this spring a lot of them were eaten by worms i got to do better next year protecting them just a lot of them had worms in them that I just had to throw out but uh yeah I got this uh May 2022 so just three years ago and this has grown so big it’s beautiful beautiful tree actually I just noticed it’s coming out with flowers now it’s not supposed to flower um they actually do like a false flowering this time of year they’ll they’ll flower but they won’t set fruit and then they’ll flower again in the late fall winter to make the fruit in the spring so that’s about it everything’s looking really good got another pineapple over here looking really good got a lot of fruit coming in pineapples hundreds of mangoes hundreds of sapadillas maybe I’ll get some sour sap some jack fruit next year got a lot of starf fruit coming in so it’s looking good looking good all right thanks for watching

Will you be attend Mangofest 2025 at West Palm Beach Convention Center???
Good looking trees. I suggest you try white sapote before you spend years waiting on that tree. I almost fell in the white sapote YouTube hype. Then I tried a variety a Nursey in the Redlands had and all the varieties fruit and spice park has and didn’t like any of them. Nice texture, no flavor. None of them. Another YouTuber I follow tried them and he agreed with me. See if you can get your hands on a fruit this or next year.
