Hey everyone! I rescued these two air plants from a shop back in November. I've been caring for them the same way, but the one on the left has started turning brown and hasn’t really grown much. Its leaves are also curlier compared to the one on the right, which seems to be doing great.
When I first got the one on the left, the tops of its inner leaves were a pinkish-red color, but that’s completely faded now. Not sure if that’s a bad sign or just normal?

Here's what I usually do:
– Every two to three weeks I soak them for about 20-30 minutes when I have time, after that I turn them upside down to prevent rotting.
– If I’m busy, I mist them with water once a week (depending on the weather).
– They used to sit on a windowsill, but the sun got too intense, so I moved them to a spot with bright indirect light.

Any idea what could be going on with the left one? Rot? Dehydration? I'm hoping I can still save it, but not sure what to try next.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

They both look great. I’m new to air plants myself but those might be two different types of air plants. Some also curl when they are thirsty.

Air plants are slow growers in general, and even slower if they are not getting enough light.

Air plants are either painted to make them look prettier to sell (not great for the plant’s health) or they naturally blush colors right before they are about to flower.

Every two to three weeks soaking seems a bit too long between soakings, unless you live in a humid environment. Otherwise once a week is more standard (again, depending on your environment). If the leaf tips start getting crispy then it wants more misting or more frequent soaking.
