This just recently popped up in a sloped bed I converted from from grass to wildflowers this past spring. Is this the good stuff or the bad stuff? If bad what’s the best treatment? Thanks friends

I have it too in some areas. Hasn’t been a problem. I look forward to other responses.

Hey, the auto mod wanted me to make a comment so here it is. This is Western NC zone 7a/b.

It’s good. If you can’t stand the look of it, you can just remove it but it’ll probably come back in some spots.

neither, just a slime mold happy in a spot. won’t do anything (help or hurt), just let it do its thing

  5. Depends on how it tastes. Please report your findings.

Often called “dog vomit fungus” … it’s a slime mold that is important in breaking down organic matter. Gross looking, but harmless and useful.

It MIGHT mean you are overwatering, so check your sprinklers and irrigation system (timers and emitters and spray heads) and test the soil moisture.

It tends to show up in mulch or compost after heavy rains.
