Red leaf banana tree/plant. When I left for my trip it was gorgeous. Came home and it looked like this ): I don’t know what the best course of action is. I gave it a really thorough watering and can tell it’s still so dehydrated. There is a new leaf growing still so that gives me hope. Any and all advice is much appreciated. Even looking at these pictures to how it looks today she seems a bit sadder/droopier today and idk what to doooooooooooooo

I usually water very deeply every/every other week depending on the weather/heat and how thirsty it looks.

Honestly, unless you are somewhere that is currently cold or extremely dry, I’d move it outside into the shade for a while. You will be better able to thoroughly water it, and it will appreciate the humidity.
Bananas are super resilient. You could probably cut the whole thing down, and it would just shoot up a bunch of new stems.
In this case, I would just remove the heavily damaged leaves. Water it consistently and it will be fine.
It looks like it could benefit from a bigger pot and fresh soil too.
How would the house sitter have fixed this? I’m curious about the expectations you had.
House sitter. Not plant sitter. Watering is one thing but watering correctly is another. Your can’t expect a person to get this right unless you left specific details instructions.
