HGTV fans are still reeling from the cancellation of Farmhouse Fixer. Jonathan Knight’s series joined the list of axed shows, along with Bargain Block, Married to Real Estate, Izzy Does It, and Christina on the Coast. Still, the New Kids on the Block star seems to harbor no ill will toward the network, and he even has an idea that would be sure to please longtime viewers.

When Country Living spoke to Jon earlier this month, he had lots to say about his NKTOB Las Vegas residency and his plans for the future. But it was his TV show pitch that has us intrigued.

“I’ve always urged the people at HGTV to bring the garden aspect back to HGTV,” he said. “They say the garden shows don’t do well, but I think if there was a really good one, it would do well. People nowadays don’t garden like they used to, but I have a few ideas I’m pitching that will be more farm-based, so we’ll see where that goes.”

Fans of the network have a soft spot for shows like Gardening by the Yard, Martha Knows Best, and Curb Appeal and have been asking the network to put the G back in HGTV. We have to say, Jon’s idea fills the bill nicely.

“Even if it’s just a reality show tagging along with me while I do my daily chores and hopefully teach people things along the way, that would be cool,” Jon continued. “I love TV shows where it’s not just drama and stupidity, but viewers come away having learned something.”

We’re hoping HGTV gets the message!
