I am creating a 20×10 greenhouse (facing south lengthwise). I am interested in your thoughts on layout for the greenhouse. Prep/seeding area, raised beds, etc. What should be included in a greenhouse intended for starting seeds and extending my growing season?
It is going on the south side of the house and should have full 8+ hours of sunlight year round. Going to put a thick layer of lava rock as the floor (repurposed from old landscaping). Would like for it to be able to operate if grid went down.

Where did you buy the frame?
Good deal
I’d grow in the ground if possible, I’ve got two small greenhouses one with in ground beds and one with large pots. I much prefer growing in ground. They are only 6×8 and 8×8
The in ground one has permanent staging on the north side to raise seedlings which I like a lot. Under the staging I’ve found various herbs do well like oregano, marjoram, parsley. But moveable staging or shelves would give more options.
I grow tomatoes, chillis, aubergine, melon, cucumbers in mine from planting them in late April/early may untill I replace them in late September/early October with hardy salads like kale, mustards, lettuce, spinach and also garlic . I don’t get any direct sun on them for half the year due to the angle of the sun and a large stand of trees to the south, but they tend to survive and grow slowly then produce a lot in march and April before any outside crops are ready. If they got sun I’d be able to crop them a bit over winter too. They are unheated with no power
That’s in zone 8 and 56 degrees north so similar latitude to southern Alaska, usually get a few -12c nights a year but the average low is above freezing
