    Mine is such a diva I’m glad I named her Madge (prayer-like a prayer-Madonna-Madge)

Wait taking prayer plants off the wish list, everybody in this house gets axolotl poop water and LIKES it. Offending the lotl is not an option, he puts lots of LOVE into that water! (and some poop)

Ok so I’ve been watering with tap water and have been struggling with my leaves browning a bit. What do you guys use?

She said don’t you know she’s boujee??

After a year of trying to please mine we moved it to a different spot and gave up. Only bottom water when we remember it exists.

A few weeks ago it decided to bloom… How or why I have zero idea.

  6. I use tap water on mine and have never had a yellow leaf.

Makes sense. My pothos/money tree/parlor plants and rubber plant (so far) have been doing well on tap. I have that same plant, and it’s been on life support for a hot minute.

It’s essentially isopod food at this point.

This isn’t from tap water. Fluoride is the phytotoxin that causes chlorosis and necrosis, but it’s limited in presentation. This is senescence, so you need to evaluate light exposure and watering frequency.

Mine lives outside and gets watered with the hose or rain water, it’s been blooming for weeks and constantly producing new leaves. She’s very happy out there lol

You can fart in the same room with a calathea and it will die IMMEDIATELY 🤣

Ive never watered with anything but tap and have never had an issue – does this just speak to my local water quality, or have I just gotten lucky?

It isn’t super tasty tap water or anything – I don’t drink it unfiltered.

Someone told me that Calatheas do best with self watering pots
