This is growing in my backyard, andI think it looks like elderberry. However, I know elderberry can look like a few poisonous plants. I have done some research and the research is pointing towards elderberry, but I'm not confident IDing plants myself.
So, before I either let it grow berries, or (very carefully,) cut it down: what is this?

Elderberry
Edit: the berries are toxic unless cooked
It’s elderberry, water hemlock flower petals don’t touch like elderberry flower petals do
Elderberry
Technically, anything is a poison in high enough quantities. Vice versa, in low amounts, some poisons are medicinal.
You can make lemonade/syrup out of the elderflowers
Sambucus/Elderberry Tree .

Take a pic or a piece of it to your local University or COOPERATIVE SERVICE before you make plans to consume it..👀🌿
