    I’m waiting for a UPS Bumper Crop fertilizer delivery so I can get another round in, especially for the bigger tomatoes. Lots of pruning. I keep the bird baths and feeders going for fun and to be humane, but it does work.     For the last few years here (West slope of Lassen) I've heavily shaded my tomatoes (and squash) and used full time misters getting pollination throughout the summer and no leaf disease.

    Great tips. Shade cloth makes a big impact on tomatoes surviving in the heat. My biggest issue this year was blossom end rot. It was so hot this year, I felt like I couldn’t water enough.

    Hi Kim
    I have a question on lowering ph level of my soil for cantelope from 7.5 to 6.5.
    I read that it can take time using iron sulfate.
    Does it work? Have you tried it on any plants? Sorry it's off topic 😅

    Good reminder to top dress with compost. I don’t have any self-made compost, but hopefully deMonyes Greenhouse or Strader’s Garden Center has Bumpercrop soil.
    But, I’ve had blossom end rot happen to my Pink Heart and Green Apple tomatoes. So far, only lost 4.
    Also, I too put water out for the birds, but the deer drinks it dry, thinking it’s their water hole too. 😂
