We live on 0.78 acres and want to “no lawn” the part of our yard in red. It’s a decent sized area. What’s the best way to kill that large amount of grass?

I got some good news for you… it’s already dead 😍

Put a path in so you can still walk through it

How do you want to kill it? Chemical is the easiest, but I won’t use them. But that means work. I’ve tried solarizing with clear plastic, smothering with cardboard and mulch, but the best way is the most work. Dig it up, then cover the area with at least 2 layers of cardboard, then do what you’re planning on top of the cardboard. Importing soil, mulch, rocks, or whatever. You’ll still have to be vigilant and pull any grass tufts that appear in the future before it gets a foothold. Grass is the hardest weed to get rid of.

I’m slowing getting rid of my lawn by pilling up the grass clippings from a mow in one spot to kill the grass there and then change it to flowers. Makes the amount of grass killed manageable every time

Cut short. Put down some cardboard and dirt on top

    Plant what you want.

Rent a sod-ripper. You won’t be spraying poison, and it’s fast. Rip around a path

Arrest it for running a high profile vacation island with help from their gf and hotel entrepreneur buddy.
