Pandy’s Garden Center, 41600 Griswold Road in Elyria, will present the Wonderful Wizard of Paws fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug 2, according to a news release.
The community event supports the Friendship Animal Protective League of Lorain County.
“Dress your dog as your favorite Wizard of Oz character for a chance to win fabulous prizes — whether they’re a cowardly lion or a sassy Glinda, we want to see them strut their stuff,” the release said.
Also on tap at the event:
• Funky Pooch will serve the hottest dogs around, edible ones
• Hatfield’s Goode Grub food truck will be on hand
• 50/50 raffle and basket raffles
• Murray Ridge Animal Clinic will offer pet care advice and answer questions
• Moments in Time Photography will capture professional photos of your costumed canines
• Stellaloo will showcase trendy pet accessories and gourmet treats
• Jindonut Treatery will be on hand with its pet-friendly goodies
Donations of newspapers, blankets, pet food and other helpful supplies are encouraged and will go directly to support the animals in need at the Friendship Animal Protective League.
“This event is a perfect blend of fun, fur and fundraising,” said Candi Petranyi, event coordinator, in the release. “We’re excited to bring our community together to support the amazing work Friendship APL does for animals in need.
“Plus, who doesn’t want to see a Yorkie dressed as the Wicked Witch?”
Admission is free.
