Plant ID apps are conflicted, as is the plant identification sub. It looks a lot like poison ivy but also slightly different than all the reference pics I can find. Need to figure it out so I can go about killing it.
yep, sorry friend. definitely poison ivy. you can tell by the “thumbs” on the leaves

Yes! Wear gloves and long sleeves and pull it by the roots. Wash with dawn dish soap after with a sponge. Wash clothes with hot water and white vinegar. Be mindful of anything you touch after with the gloves.
Agricultural vinegar will also slowly kill the plant – dilute with water and spray on hot dry days. You can buy it on Amazon. It is caustic to the skin and should be mixed outdoors.

This is the only exception that i’ll make for using herbicide. I have only needed one bottle of roundup for like four years now; just put the nozzle on foam mode and ‘paint’ a few of the greenest leaves so it absorbs into the whole plant. Should be dead within a week or so. Just don’t go hog wild and spray it everywhere and don’t try to cut it or weed-whack it or it will just start popping out of the ground everywhere.

If you think you might have touched it at all wash immediately with some Dawn or Dawn Powerwash. You want to get the oils off as fast as possible.

yes! definitely poison ivy—I heard it once described as: 1 three-point leaf cradled by 2 mitten-like leaves, and this has lived with me since! makes it so easy to quickly identify poison ivy, hope it helps 😊

Yep. Put on disposable gloves and pull each one carefully, placing into a large plastic bag. Then dispose of gloves too, removing them inside out. Then wash hands and forearms three times with Dawn. Evil plant. Sorry.
