Was hiking today in Baltimore & found these along the walk. My daughter says she eats them. I guess they’re safe cause she hasn’t died. Should I worry?

Looks like a tayberry to me, they’re a hybrid between a blackberry and a raspberry and very tasty. Although you should definitely get a proper confirmation before sampling.

Looks like a salmonberry, common in the PNW but occasionally found in other regions, usually due to someone planting them.

Based on region and leaf structure, I’m guessing this is a different berry in the rubus genus (they are all edible).

    Wineberry. Also called Dewberry.

Although non-native, it has established itself really well in the eastern US natural landscapes, so much so that people think it’s native. The berries are edible and have raspberry-like flavor; mostly tart and slightly sweet when ripe. They have very short shelf life though. Once picked, they perish quickly.

Definitely a wineberry (Rubus phoenicolasius) with how dense the hairs are. It’s native to eastern Asia and is invasive in both North America and Europe.
