After some unplanned delays (thanks, spring weather), I finally finished assembling the Scandiglas greenhouse from YourGreenhouses with an aluminum frame and glass panels. Right now it’s set up as a peaceful lounging spot, but part of me is tempted to fill it with tomatoes, cucumbers, or even citrus.

Have any of you made the switch between greenhouse lounging and growing? Is it worth giving up the cozy vibes for the harvest? Or is there a middle ground I’m missing?

I have a screened in greenhouse because I’m in Florida. I BBQ, grow in u shaped raised bed and relax it’s about the same size as yours.

  2. How durable are these to the elements? Any concerns with cutting grass and projectiles, for example?

Should be too hot, when the suns out?

So you need to say how often its 50° and sunny for a day. That’s the sweet spot here. Which is rare. If its 50° or 60° here, its grey.

Which is why my green fabric greenhouse is perfect for sitting in, on cold grey days. But then that means inside the greenhouse it needs to be full of palms and bananas. The illusion is not bad. Subtracts or adds 3 or 4 months from the calendar. Much better than in the house, with the tv showing blue skies and summer.

I’d be chilling in there thinking of all the things I could be growing in there.

Both. Have plants and furniture inside and out. Put a bench inside as a work area. You can always move and rearrange a lot of the stuff around whatever plants you’re growing.

Both. Setup on the outside for summer hangouts and what not, and a bench inside surrounded by plants for fall and winter hangout

Looks exactly as a Euro-serre Maxi 4 which I am building right now 👍

You can do both. Grow in the corners etc and use this to extend the summer or watch northern light in the winter
