Whether you are a native plant enthusiast, friend, neighbor, or a gardener of all kinds, you are invited to attend a free garden tour on Friday afternoon in downtown Alton. The native plant tour will be held Friday, July 18th from 4-7pm. It’s a multi-stop, walkable tour of public garden beds in Alton, Illinois by Grow Native! Professional Member Sierra Club – Piasa Palisades Group, the Hayner Public Library District, and Alton Main Street.

The Sierra Club’s Christine Favilla tells The Big Z the tour route covers a three-block area from 3rd Street between State Street and Piasa Street, the 300 Block of Belle Street, and the sitting area adjacent to the Library’s Belle Street parking lot.

You can get a drink voucher to try one of those out by stopping at the table in the greenspace on 3rd Street where the night market is held. Registration is required for the free tour. You can do so at https://grownative.org/event/
