Long story short, when we moved in there was an uneven, old patio. The patio was against a slope and so that attributed to the lack of level ground. We decided we’d add a retaining wall to keep in the patio base. Now we realized the inside of the wall is going to look ugly because of the direction we are retaining. Is there anything we can do/change to make it look better from the inside of the patio?

Is flipping them around not an option? Usually when I have seen this type of brick used, it’s filled with dirt going in the other direction. I would also just change bricks. Not a lot of good options that you’re going to want to hear. You will have to redo this no matter what.
Those blocks are good for base tiers and when curving the wall. There should be another square block for the top row or you could always use a cap.
I mean, they seem backwards… however, some boards may look more charming than the wall ever would and you could just tack it in after.
Another option would be steel tubing/outdoor strut, cement board, faux brick tile finish. Cap to taste.
You should post a couple more photos to get the idea of where the patio is vs the higher ground
I get what you’re saying, but honestly it doesn’t look bad. I actually like the pattern it makes. Maybe plant some low-maintenance, hardy, shrubs or something of your liking to block them if it continues to bug you.
Plant inside of them
How can the inside of the wall look ugly when it gets backfilled!!! Either that or you’ve intstalled the blocks backwards!!
The cinder block facing that you have shown us in the picture is meant to be covered in soil.
This side of the block gets filled, the other side is the front. They also make “double sided” retaining wall block if both sides will be exposed.
Just promise yourself you’ll do some ledgestone later, that will buy you a couple years peace of mind
