I went to a nursery looking for roses and here is what happened:
Last March 2025, I decided to enhance my front yard landscaping by hiring Moon Valley Nurseries. The Grapevine, Texas, salesman quoted me $3,500 to plant 30 White Carpet Roses, four bushes, and an 8-foot Eastern Redbud tree, assuring me the project would be completed in 5 to 6 weeks.
On May 1, the crew arrived, led by Jesse Salcedo, and planted everything. However, a couple of weeks later, when the mailman pointed out one tag that read “Red Sweet Drift Rose,” I became suspicious. Upon checking while removing the tags, I discovered that there were 29 other White Drift Roses with a life expectancy of 6 to 10 years instead of White Carpet Roses with a life expectancy of 10 to 20 years, which differ significantly in life expectancy and costs.
I called Jason Booth at quality control and got no return call. I called the salesman from Grapevine, Cole, but received no satisfactory responses, and Cole never called me back. Frustrated, I called the Texas store again on a recorded line, where Cole made excuses with lies and promised a callback from a manager.
Eventually, I spoke with a store representative who informed me that they would replant the roses, but it would take another 5 to 6 weeks, falling during the peak of summer. At first, he could not tell me when they could replant. I asked for a credit back.. The manager would not give me a credit for the mistake. The store must have a terrible inventory control problem. I also noticed that the original team hadn’t mulched my garden beds, leading to grass growing in the beds. After spending $360 on mulch and hiring help for an additional $100, I was concerned about what would happen during the replant.
I called Moon Valley corporate in Arizona, speaking with Coleen, and she said someone would call me back. A representative named Maderia called me back. The representative indicated they could replant in the fall if I did not like the Drift Roses. I requested that the replanting be put in writing and received an unsigned message from an unknown number. Here I am with a headache and with a terrible response from Moon Valley.
Nice video ❤
