Isn’t it so cute? I had so much fun with this build!
This is a great project for those who love to garden but perhaps don’t have the space or yard to do so. The shelf on the bottom is super convenient for extra storage too!
It measures 4’L x 2’W x 2.6’H so it’s a really good size for growing some fruits or vegetables! If you don’t know me by now, I LOVE anything spicy so I would definitely grow some peppers of some sort in mine 🌶️🌶️🌶️🔥😋🤤
If you want a copy to the free plans that I used, comment the word “garden” and I will DM you. All of the details you need are on the plans. Please note, if you aren’t following me, this message will land in your request box rather than your DMS. 😏
The only modification that I made was adding 1x2s in between the cedar planks in the planter bed for extra support.
This is the first video in my DIY outdoor series so follow along if you want to get some inspo for some outdoor projects. Spring is here. Let’s get outdoor ready!😎
PS. If you’re local, this planter is ready for a new home. 😃🌻
Let’s build!💪🏻

All right, guys. Today I’m going to show you how to build this really cute raised garden planter box with shelf. I picked up some cedar picket fence pieces and some 2x4s at Home Depot. And then I brought it all home and measured and made all of my cuts. I always like to organize my piles and label them so that I know exactly what size pieces I’m grabbing for. Then I gave all of the pieces a really quick buff sand just to get rid of any potential splinters. And then I used this antique white wood stain and added it just to all of the 2x4s. I plan to keep the cedar wood pieces natural looking and I wanted a subtle contrast for the frame. So I painted that on and let it dry. Then I began building the framework for the planter and it measures about 4 ft by 2 ft. So it’s really good size. And then I started adding the cedar pieces and I was so excited to see it all start to come together. It’s a pretty simple build so don’t be intimidated if you’re a beginner. I also sealed it to give it some protection from the outdoors. I think this is such a cute garden planter. You can grow fruits and vegetables right in your backyard, and the convenient shelf on the bottom is a great place for extra storage.
