So Iv been looking for a sensitive plant forever. We had a plant show this weekend where Im from and saw this and HAD to have it! A freakin pink variegated sensitive plant?!? Yes plz!! But I am pretty new to exotic plants. I was told to leave her in the moss and with the dome until she acclimated. But how long does if generally take for a plant like this to acclimate? And after she has…then what?! Do I keep her planted in moss? Do I re-plant in soil? What kind? Do I need to always keep a dome on her? My house is pretty humid. And she’s sitting in a north facing window right now, should I put her under grow lights instead? I think she likes to be moist all the time? Any tips and care advice is greatly appreciated!!

I was looking at his little ones and saw the price and wondered who would buy i because knowing myself I would kill it so quick.
BTW nice meeting you 😂
Lots of lights and lights of humidity and lots of air circulation!
I don’t think i want anything with the word sensitive in it…lol it would be dead in a day.
You are brave
What is the child?
I have never been more jealous of someone on this sub 🥺
I would definitely take my time with the acclimating, wouldn’t want to shock that one at all.
What a little beauty!
I had to google this lol I’m assuming it’s called “sensitive” because it’s the kind that closes its leaves when you touch it? Not because it will die if you look at it sideways? It’s very pretty
Have you had a sensitive plant before? You know they have a relatively short life cycle? They’re a little too high maintenance for me
Sensitive plants are generally considered weed in the tropics, so this surprises me!
The only tip or advice I can think of is this:
Don’t give it to me unless you want it to die. 🤣
They are easy from seed for next time. Just don’t touch it too much as that costs it energy.
I grew a bunch from seed. All of them were easy peasy but I rarely touched them. They are pretty standard. Even moisture not water logged, not overly dry.
I’d probably slowly acclimate that one to the ambient humidity by reducing the seal on the lid over a few days but that would be my only recommendation
Edit past tense only because I cut back on plants a few years back
Also radio lab podcast about them learning, which my own experience with them corroborated.
