Digging up all of that lily of the valley about killed me. Hoping removing the top 1.5 ft of dirt and then torching it will have killed it. Going to put boards on the outside next so the posts aren’t visible. Maybe add a cap with some lighting as well. Can’t wait until it fills in a bit more. Any advice?

I also hate the cap on the left side and am aware it’s warped, will be replacing soon

What else are you going to add to it? This looks great and is inspiring me as I have a very similar space I haven’t quite figured out what to do with it yet. But I think I just found my solution!

Edit: my bad I see where you already talked about what you’re adding next! I got too excited and went straight from the pics to the comments.

Beautiful, but with time the wood will fail.

  9. Retaining walls look really good. Keep adding perennials and greens. It looks so much better!

Looks awesome – I’d stain that wood to make it pop ..

Great job, looks terrific! I built something very similar with raised garden beds about 5 years ago. Now, some of the lower boards are bowing out more than the top boards in between supports. A few metals straps drilled to the inside is the change I should have made. For reference, I used 4x1s with 4x4s every 4 feet as supports.
