FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno Building Healthy Communities will be renovating Calwa Park using funding that was granted from Prop 68.
Fresno BHC hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at Calwa Park on Friday morning.
Community leaders informed the public that a $6.6 million renovation budget was granted from Prop 68.
Calwa Park is a special park and recreation district that was created back in 1957.
The construction will include 3 playgrounds, a walking loop, new shaded picnic and BBQ areas, an outdoor fitness area, and a garden.
Renovations will also be made to the current snack area, the historic rocket ship sculpture, the open market, and lights and walkways in the park.
