Are my airplants okay to sit on a bed of soil like this? And do I mist them once a week? Which will get soil wet too.

  1. What are you hoping to accomplish with the soil? The only possible benefit they could get from being on soil is residual humidity from the soil drying up. Other than that, it may rot the leaves that are touching the soil if the soil is constantly saturated

  2. If you’re inexperienced with air plants, this may be a good recipe for rot. Some people do put their air plants on the soil of other planters, but I’d pick them up to mist rather then soaking the soil around them. Light misting is fine, but air plants like their bases to get dry quickly.
