MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – You can help support a Marquette nonprofit while checking out some of the city’s most beautiful gardens next week.

The Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee is hosting its 31st annual Garden Tour next Thursday. The self-guided tour will take you to seven gardens around Marquette that the committee says are some of the most beautiful in the area. There’ll also be a refreshment stop at Blackrocks Brewery and opportunities to ask the gardeners questions about their plants.

Organizers say as a nonprofit, the committee relies heavily on fundraisers like this one to stay afloat.

“All of the plants, all of the fertilizer, all of the soil improvements, and all of the labor goes up every year,” said Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee Member Jill LaMere. “Everything is on us to raise and to do the work as well.”

Tickets are $15 and you can get them at Marquette flower shops, the Garden Tour sites, or by contacting the committee at mqtbeautification.org.
