I feel like my tomatoes should be ripe by now. The ones in my plastic greenhouse are still small, green, and cherry-sized. Shouldn’t I at least have loads of green tomatoes by now? It’s my first year gardening.

Did you grow them from seed, or from plants?

    When were they sown?

Where are you in the country?

They look about right – tomatoes keep fruiting until September. They also look really healthy!

I have a couple of large, flattish, green tomatoes and a whole host of small tomatoes (mainly green, but a couple were going orange yesterday) on the plants I was given and planted at work.

My two tomato plants at home have plenty of flowers on, but no sign of tomatoes yet. I didn’t plant any at home!

They look good. If you want to try to increase your crop gently drag a clean dry paintbrush over the flowers. Bees are regrettably in short supply so you might have to do their job. Other than that, water and feed consistently.

Cherry toms I’ve got a few trusses (would’ve had a load more, but the f’ing muntjac had them 🥲); Roma plum toms are coming on nicely. Got some Sungold yellow cherry that have only one truss forming so far. Heritage varieties – Green Zebra and St Pierre – doing well but were again slightly stunted by the damn deer!

All have plenty of flowers (above the deer danger zone; plus I’ve barricaded the gap in the fence), so I’m hopeful for a relatively normal season.

All planted from seed, grown in the warm, light utility room, in early April.

I have harvested 1 tomato – yesterday. I grew them from seed, but rather later than usual this year. The crop is going to be tiny compared to previous years.

Mine are much the same. Sown from seed in March. Potted out late May. Lots of flowers and many green fruits. I have one single tomato that is ripening!

My smaller greenhouse tomatoes are just starting to ripen. The big beefsteak ones are a way off yet, as are the outdoor ones.

My peppers have lots of fruit on, some pretty large, but won’t be ripening any time soon.

Looking good to me but remember every plant is different growing at its own pace with slightly different variables

I grew from seed late in the season and we’ve recently moved into in the flowering phase. I probably should have planted them on a bit sooner in retrospect.

I have one thumbnail sized cherry tom well on its way but only the one right now! My cucumber plant has also started flowering so hoping it won’t be too long before I get to enjoy the fruits of my labour. Loving all the photos!

I didn’t actually plant any, but there was obviously some seeds from last year’s plants in one of the pots that I just left out last year because in the last two weeks two plants have emerged. I don’t think I’ll get any actual tomatoes though.

I’ve harvested three lots of tomatoes off each of my cherry tomato and plum tomato plants. My other plants that are some sort of large tomato, can’t remember what they are I’m yet to have any that are ripe but it has 5 trusses and each of the suckers that I didn’t pick have about 3 or 4 trusses each. I bought another 4 tomato plants recently as well which are only about a foot tall yet. I’m not sure what I’m going to be doing with all the tomatoes when they’re all ripe at the same time 😂

my yellow ones ripened at the end of June – a record!. My advice is sow in January and put outside during the day in winter/early spring and only bring inside when it is < 5 deg or frosty out.
