I am propagating this string of pearls. I am battling fungus gnats. I’ve used mosquito bits as well as the sticky traps. Now I am noticing mold growing on the bits! 🤦🏻‍♀️I was afraid to repot because the roots would be very new (planted in June). ALL advice is greatly appreciated. I really want to keep this string going. Thanks!

I wiped out my gnats by using the bits in the jug I use to water. So every time I water it kills then. Maybe try that instead of directly in soil. Good luck

I think your soil may be incorrect because it looks like it’s staying wet too long and leading to issues you are dealing with.

Whenever I use mosquito bits directly in the soil, it also ends up molding. I would do what someone else suggested and use them to water the plants.

It does look like your soil is pretty well. If the fungus gnats haven’t been going down because of the sticky traps, maybe try repotting. I’d suggest using orchid bark and perlite in your mix. Your soil looks a bit dense and that’s what’s causing it to retain the moisture that the fungus gnats love.

    Since soaking and repotting out.

Use tweezers to remove all the moldy bits. Let soil dry thoroughly. the fungus gnats hate dry while the SOP does not care.

You can also cover the soil with layer of sand that might help.

Depending on you commitment to plants there are predatory mites that people say work

IMO experience OP I would take the SOP out of there and put it on top of some new dry dirt and get rid of this dirt because it’s staying wet too long, infested with gnats, and mold is already growing in it. Good luck 💚🪴

I have had my string of pearls for I don’t even know it seems like a year and they are doing OK but they just do not grow. They are where they are and they don’t move. I do not understand that at all. lol. I wish I could help you. I’m sorry I came here just to say that because I saw yours and I was like dang it is it just this plant??
