We bought in 2020 and I’ve been creating garden spaces where lawn once reigned. Lots of natives and pollinators- many grown from seed 🐝🌿🐝

Beautiful!! You’re doing what I wish all homeowners would do. Keep at it 🙂

I love what you’ve done!!!! Gorgeous!! I can’t wait to own a home someday so I can do this with my yard 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

It’s awesome except that ivy is going to cause problems for you. I’d nix that.

  5. 1. This is absolutely stunning

    2. Letting Ivy grow on the front of the structure, while gorgeous, is going to invite bugs + rodents into your house & slowly destroy the facade

Edit: For clarity! I’m in CT, technically zone 6a/b but my spot acts more like 6b/7a and is usually a week ahead of people just down my street due to full sun coverage.

I wasn’t able to caption each photo on mobile, but if you have questions I’m happy to answer them!

gorgeous!! i can’t imagine the amount of work this took, even spread across 5 years.

  8. Absolutely love what you’re doing!! I’ll join the others and caution against allowing ivy to grow on any structure with vinyl siding, however. Ivy will inevitably work its way under the vinyl, prying it open and allowing moisture (e.g. water damage and mold) and pests inside.

I have a neighbor who let ivy grow on their vinyl-sided home, and it’s now popping out from under the vinyl all over the building. It’s beautiful, but a *very* expensive repair bill waiting to happen.

Dang! This is beautiful, clearly a labor of love

I bet it is noticeably cooler walking by your house in the summer. Hope your neighbours appreciate it! Very impressive!

I can’t imagine the amount of labor that went into this!  You’ve earned your rest, OP.

I have to ask, what’s with the terracotta pots on posts in picture #13?
