Hello, I need help with my bonsai. I have it for a year now and it was thriving but for a couple of weeks it is losing more and more leaves. 😕 I think if I don’t do something, it will die.
It has a self watering system underneath and I have used it without problems. I checked the roots and they aren’t really thick or in circles as I have seen on photos of bonsais which need repotting.
Could you please help me? It is my first bonsai and I would love it to come back to its healthy form. 🥹

How does the soil feel when you touch it?
While self watering pots can be great, not all species used for bonsai are suited for it
Natural light changes over time, so the self-watering system may not be working adequately now. I suggest you check the soil for moisture, and watch the foliage, water when it’s needed.
