  1. Looks like possibly too much heat or too little water? I would not think covering with a bag that allows air/water to penetrate would cause all the leaves to die. I used to have 2 mulberry trees and when temps get too hot they dropped their leaves. Also fertilizers can burn them if insufficient water for period of time but it was thriving not long ago. Just my two cents and experience with them..

  2. Maybe its the material that the bag is made out of and it just cooked inside? I wonder if you fertilize the tree with a yeast fertilizer if it will bounce back? I bet you could root those mulberry suckers no problem!

  3. If I was to propagate Mulberry, seems like woody cuttings with rooting hormone works best, with air layering also an option. Rooting suckers in water seems less likely to succeed, even with the addition of willow or pothos to fortify the weaker roots. Peace and Blessings Kaye 🌱🌻🌳

  4. It may be that the state of the tree has little to do with the bag. Are the roots overly wet or dry? I would hope for a new flush of leaves! Be well Kaye🌳

  5. I had brought a small tree from my childhood homestead and planted it in our backyard. I thought it had died but it had a big healthy sucker coming from the base of the tree so I left it alone and let it grow. That was in 2009. Today it is a magnificent and stately Honey Locust tree providing beautiful dappled shade to our backyard. 🤩

  6. I dont think the bag killed the tree. Looks more like some thing ate the roots or it got a disease? Those tree bags are used on fruit tree crops in the Central Valley of california where they grow food for all of the u.s.

  7. I would just leave it. If it was totally dead, it wouldn't be sprouting new from the roots. It may have gotten a wood boring insect that killed the main stem.

  8. I tried covering my tomatoes this year to prevent hornworms…and it fried them too. Learned my lesson. It held way too much moisture on the plants. God bless!!!

  9. 😱😱😱I would trim it back a little and see where the leaves start coming back then trim it to the new growth. It’s not dead forsure or the suckers wouldn’t be coming up, right? Maybe it just cooked the leaves. What a bummer.

  10. Naughty old bag. Kaye don't give up on miss mulberry tree..she will thrive and hope fully bring you goodies next year please don't get her out yet.xxplease xx.my Japanese maples both went chrisp .I don't know why now they are leafing up again 😅❤. Love you..😊
