I have no idea if this is acceptable work but I think it looks pretty bad. Input?

  1. Well the trees are trimmed…

Who cares it if brings the tree away from the house and still providing shade and beauty to your home?!?

Who cares if the integrity of the tree is impacted!!?

I’m just a Redditor after a drink or three.

Anyways, if you’re renting, send your landlords pictures, but don’t don’t get bent out of shape. It’s not worth it.

  2. Do you own the house ? Or does your Landlord own it.

You messed up by asking to have trees trimmed. Most landscapers will do exactly this. Trees can’t just be trimmed. You’ll want to take this out now.

Buy a house. You can then trim the trees any way you want.

  5. hate to say it, but the landlord got hosed …. hope it didnt cost arm & a leg

The landlord hired the cheapest butcher they could find. Not much you can do about besides reduce your respect for your landlord.

Ive had clients specifically ask for it cut like this along walls like this. Actually thats kind of normal. But yeah thats not just a trim lol. Thats trimmed all the way back

Looks like a Willow and (forgot the name but it grows fast). I’ve cut some of my willows in certain areas 3 times already this season, you’ll prbly have your shade back in a month if you get good water and sun or at least next year

That is really close to the house, I’d be more concerned about branches against the house and blocking the view out the windows.

The real crime was not trimming these earlier in the plants life to keep it in check. If you just trim back a little at this point, you will need to do it every 3 months.

That looks terrible! It’s uneven and the cuts look like they were hacked. I owned a landscape company a few years ago and I would be deeply embarrassed with this job. I couldn’t honestly call that a trim job at all.

Not your trees not your problem honestly. I would send pictures though so they dont blame you

I have OCD. That would drive me crazy.

They cut the part of the trees they were supposed to keep. The part against your house should be cut. Although, from the odd perspective of the pictures, it is kind of difficult to see what is going on.

Did your landlord actually hire a landscaper or did your landlord do the trimming themselves?

“I heard of trimmin’ the hedges, but damn bitch you done scorched the earth!”

  17. WastingTime1111

I know everyone here loves their trees and bushes, but the homeowner part of my brain is screaming, “Why would you ever leave a tree that close your house?!?! You are setting yourself up for huge issues!”

If I was the landlord, that tree would have been ripped out years ago and would have been replaced with some small bushes.

  18. Landscaper? More like a tweaker with a hacksaw.

  19. SulkySideUp

My landlord did this last year and now they’re ugly AND growing back directly across the walkways instead of above them. It’s been months and it still makes me mad to look at.

Probably a grass mower calling themselves a “Landscaper”. They are two different things that have unfortunately both become covered by the word “Landscaper”
