Welcome to Gubuk Design, where architecture meets nature.
This video explores a stunning contemporary House we call “The Hidden Forest House” — a unique Home design that redefines how modern living can harmonize with the natural world. Nestled in a serene woodland setting, this House offers a bold yet discreet architectural presence, designed for those who seek privacy, tranquility, and timeless elegance.
Inspired by the poetic vision of the CRS79 Residence by OAD, this Home carries forward the spirit of seamless integration between building and landscape. From the sculpted concrete volumes to the floating master suite, every detail of this House celebrates light, nature, and human connection.
This is not just a House — it’s a Home that evolves with its environment. The minimalist interiors, warm wooden finishes, and carefully framed views offer a meditative space that breathes with the forest around it. The absence of traditional window placement, the presence of wild gardens, and the serene Japanese courtyard bring a whole new meaning to the term “modern Home.”
Discover how this House design embraces natural materials, sustainable principles, and human-centered design, creating a sanctuary where function and beauty coexist. If you’re passionate about thoughtfully designed Homes, this is a journey worth watching.

[Music] [Music] [Music] today we explore a hidden architectural gym that redefes how a home can quietly blend into its environment while standing confidently in its form Tucked into the edge of a sloping forested hillside this new residence is a poetic expression of contrast between bold geometry and organic flow between concrete and earth Designed to feel like a continuation of its surroundings this home disappears into nature yet never loses its architectural voice [Music] From the roadside the house is barely visible shielded by a burm of tall native grasses and wild shrubs The structure intentionally withdraws from the street A narrow winding path leads to a low-profile entrance framed with oxidized steel and warm timber This hidden approach creates an experience of discovery Visitors feel like they’re entering a secret retreat not just a building setting the tone for a deeply immersive spatial journey [Music] Hey hey hey [Music] [Music] as the house extends inward Its architectural language transforms The singlestory entrance evolves into a floating second volume toward the rear of the property This progression mimics the terrain’s natural slope with the master suite cantal levered above a gentle ravine Clad in dark timber and rustcoled metal the upper volume appears suspended in the canopy It feels both futuristic and grounded a sculptural form hovering within the forest’s [Music] embrace Hey hey hey [Music] [Music] The home’s material pallet is deliberately restrained boardformed concrete rete corton steel matte black window frames and natural oak These textures echo the forest floor bark and stones surrounding the site Glass is used generously but with purpose always framing the specific view or catching a moment of light Each material is left raw and honest but expertly detailed resulting in a home that feels both luxurious and durable rooted in timeless sensibility [Music] Heat Heat [Music] Designed for year-round comfort the house faces south with precisely calibrated openings Overhangs and shading fins block harsh summer sun while allowing winter warmth to penetrate deeply into the home Operable skylights draw in light from above and assist with natural ventilation Thermal mass from concrete floors and walls helps regulate interior temperatures This passive solar approach isn’t just sustainable It enhances the daily living experience by sinking the home’s rhythm with nature [Music] [Music] [Music] Hey hey hey [Music] [Music] Hey hey hey [Music] [Music] [Music] The surrounding landscape wasn’t just considered it was designed in tandem with the architecture Collaborating with a local ecological landscaper the team restored native plantings created water retaining meadows and shaped soft garden terraces that flow with the sight’s contours The result is a living breathing system that supports biodiversity while visually anchoring the house Winding footpaths and stone steps invite slow mindful movement through the terrain making the journey just as important as the destination [Music] [Music] [Music] Perched at the far end of the upper level the master bedroom projects into the canopy Large glass panels wrap around the corner offering sweeping views of treetops and filtered light At dawn the space fills with golden rays At dusk it becomes a serene retreat hovering over shadows Inside finishes are muted oak floors linen curtains and custom wooden furniture It’s minimalist but never cold Designed as a warm embrace of quiet luxury [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Hey Every window in the house has been deliberately placed to capture light movement and atmosphere A low horizontal slit near the living room floor frames a stream’s reflection Narrow vertical cuts in the hallway invite glimpses of swaying grasses These unexpected openings create a cinematic relationship with the landscape transforming the experience of walking through the house The outside world becomes part of the interior composition Always changing always alive [Music] [Music] Hey hey hey [Music] [Music] The interior spaces maintain the same design philosophy function restrained and materially honest Walls are lined with wooden panels that conceal storage and doors Exposed concrete serves both as structure and finish Soft indirect lighting adds warmth without distraction Furniture is customdesigned to fit each room perfectly blending seamlessly with the architecture Nothing is excessive Everything is intentional It’s a quiet environment that invites you to slow down reflect and feel grounded [Music] Heat Hey Heat [Music] [Music] Hey hey hey [Music] A Japanese inspired courtyard garden sits hidden behind the main living space Enclosed on three sides by glass and one by a mossy stone wall it becomes a private meditative zone A single bonsai tree a shallow reflecting pool and a rock arrangement offer visual simplicity and deep symbolism This inner garden contrasts the larger wilderness outside reminding us that beauty also exists in small intimate moments right where the architecture meets the soul [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat Heat [Music] [Music] [Music] This home is more than just a building It’s a thoughtful conversation between structure and setting form and feeling It embodies the belief that architecture can live quietly within nature without losing its identity Every detail from the sunlit skylights to the secret garden is designed to enrich the daily experience of living In this forested sanctuary modern design finds peace and nature finds a companion Thank you for joining us on GIC Design [Music] [Music]

“Every window in the house has been deliberately placed…” Meanwhile almost the entire house is glass 😆
