Thought maybe this could help someone else with water issues .. I use my edger and make about a 4-6 inch deep ravine in front of my landscape stone .. I put mulch in it . Not only does it look good , but it takes soooooo much excess water that would sit at our foundation and runs it out across the driveway and far from the house … I do this out back as well and make a dry river bed to catch all the eroding dirt and just dig it out at the at the end point when it’s dry n put it where I need it .. we live on a hill .

A sort of dry creek edging. Brilliant idea.

Clean your gutters. Water is dumping out of your gutters and not coming out of that extension.

Just like digging trenches at the beach!
Why did you not run it so that it actually drains?
Doesn’t it wash your mulch away?
Wow I didn’t even have to pay for the feet at the end
Garden bed moat
That was fun to watch! But ugh as a homeowner in Ohio also with lots of rain this year…it’s gets a lil stressful sometimes!!
Maybe take the mulch out of the last couple of feet and put gravel in. That’ll get the water moving and not wash away your mulch.
Looks great good job . I love this idea . I have installed some rain gardens but we in Vancouver ( BC ) have been in a draught for 10+ years. We were a rainforest.🤷🏼climate change is a bitch .
Beautiful landscaping – moat aside
That looks great, I’m having the same problem, downspouts are dumping right into my backyard. Gotta get it to flow somewhere. Great idea I will be copying. Thanks
This is spectacular. Well done, OP!
I swear to god I was thinking of something like this for my spout run off just last night. This is fantic inspiration!!!
This is not good. Look at that lake against the foundation. This is incorrect.
Looks very cool
It’s still ponding at your foundation and not flowing away quick enough. You just made it more decorative.
This looks like it’s been happening for a while prior to this
