I love all the swallowtails, but Giants are my favorite. Shortly after we moved to where we are now, I saw one in the yard. So I, as one does, planted a *Ptelea trifoliata* hoping for more visitors. Haven’t seen a one since. Maybe I should plant prickly ash too…

I’m 47 years old and have lived in 4 different states along the east coast…mostly in rural areas and I have never seen one of these in my life. And according to online sources they are “abundant and common”.
