I used to want a pond and stream like yours but after seeing al the algae all the time and the amount of work required to just maintain I have changed my mind. I will enjoy yours, and move on with my wish list
The power washer did the job! If you do that with a little more regularity the pond will really clear up…. Looks great

I remember y'all having problems with the ion generator because of your naturally high alkaline water. I'm curious, do you add anything to pond to make it more 😂pH neutral? I hope you all are able to continue to dial in your pond ecosystem. I love all the support you get with that (from Greg and all of the good folks) and how much joy the pond brings your family!

Aww, as lovely as it is, I could never have a pond with all the work, algae, etc. — and was wondering if you've noticed an uptick in mosquitoes since you put in your pond. What about barley straw bundles – small ones are about 10" long and wouldn't be unsightly? My farmer dad used to mention that remedy through the years when I was a kid.
I’d get into an old pair of clothes and wear water shoes , surely be much cooler . Looks like a fun job either way !

A quick weekend trip to Northern Utah for birding. It is best in the spring when the birds are migrating. There is a bird refuge that is awesome!

If you don't have one already, I use a pond scrub brush to remove algae from the rocks inside the water. It's like a bottle brush on an adjustable pole.
I have a coffee cup! I have it in an arrangement with a color blaze newly nior and wicked witch (i got all three of them from baker creek, im in NC for some family stuff rn), and a few other things that I got from Lowes and it's just so beautiful! I love elephant ears!
Get Florida flag fish and sailfin mollies …. Both eat algae and mosquitoe larvae!!

A passion for birds at his age is quite remarkable. Hope one day he can experience a Bald Eagle 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅 in flight, such a majestic beast. Fun fact, they just become the National Bird of the United States.
