Got this tool online for applying precision application of glyphosate. Will report back and let everyone know if it works! So far the drip is minimal but inevitable, hoping the damage to the turf grass is limited.

  1. This might be what finally convinces me to attempt the same thing!

    That’s certainly faster than using a q-tip, like I did 2 weeks ago. 😭

  3. Not sure if I can post the link but I discovered it through the sub. It’s called NiceGreenLawn. It was confusing but you have to purchase the scissor things and the extended size attachment. It was like $20 total, not too bad, especially since I’ve been dealing with this shit for 10 years.

Note, it looks 3D printed so you could probably make one, but at this price I don’t think it’s worth the effort.

*a rule of the sub is no link to promote products but it’s easy to google the name – the lawn liberator by NiceGreenLawn.com.

I’ll now be 3D printing and selling this little gadget 👌🏻

You’re going to kill your lawn applying glyphosate like this, it will leach in the soil

How are you applying the glyph to the applicator? I just got one of these but haven’t tried it yet.

  7. You’d think this would be tedious, but I can see the appeal, giving each and every individual enemy your undivided attention. Just need a long pole version to spare your back

How do you attach the longer blades? I bought this but can’t figure out how to attach them for the life of me.

Update next week. I just got my tongs in the mail. Ordered for my brother’s yard. He doesn’t mind it, but i cringe when i see it. Cheers!

That might be good for Dallas Grass

I would rip everything out if this was my other option. Not sure who has time for that. I certainly do not

  12. Deon_Deck

I need this! I actually need to start over, but my yard is way too big.

I did this years ago when I first moved in. Took 3 years to get rid of it all and then I discovered I had Poa triv everywhere lmao. In hindsight I should have just nuked the entire lawn and seeded with a top quality cultivar.

I’ve gotten things mostly where I want now after 6 years of selective nuking and overseeding, but if I had to do it over again I’d nuke everything and just start from scratch.

  14. Kudos to you. Let me know how your back feels after.

I use my fingers. I wear latex gloves with some light knit gloves over top of them. Then dip your index finger and thumb in herbicide. Same idea, but my fingers are more versatile than your tool.

Had you posted 2 weeks ago I would have bought it. I now have a paint brush and paint cup labeled glyphospate… Along with nitrile gloves

  17. NovasHOVA

I got the Lawn Liberator scissors I think from the same company

  18. I just use one of those cotton stretchy one size fits all winter gloves with a latex glove underneath. Then dip thumb and pointer finger into roundup and squeeze tip by tip. No drip.

  19. Just curious, what keeps the evil stuff from washing off of the blades and into the ground? I have some nasty weeds right around my pollinator plants that I would love to be able to eliminate without having to to go around each one.

Ugh, I ordered it a couple weeks ago but they were overcome by the reddit hug I think. They should be here this week.

There is a purpose built wick applicator shaped like a hockey stick. Chemical goes in the handle and the wick is on the bottom. Used to use it at a university research plot. Can’t recall the brand but it would be much better for larger areas.

did it kill it… or just iron the grass

  23. SilverStory6503

Thank you. I just bought one. It’s so nice to buy something that doesn’t have a crazy inflated price and $20 shipping fee. It was only $8 total. Thanks for the tip.

  24. BernzMadeOff

I’d get something like this if it had a longer handle. I’m a big dude and don’t want to screw my back any further or get on my knees.

  25. RedshiftOnPandy

Wait, does this work for other weeds?? Like bind weed
