We thought these were the peppers we planted, we took it out today after checking that it might be ivy

   looks like honeyvine to me, any pics of flower clusters or leaves would help. honeyvine has opposite leaves that are distinctively different than bindweed. also flower clusters instead of a large single flower.

   OMG the biggest bindweed in the history of cultivated bindweed.

   Edit: honestly, the only point necessary is that it’s certainly NOT what you wanted to grow. Wild!
