Cut the end of a plastic milk crate into a hand hold. Plastic crates vary in quality. Doubt if you can buy a good one, idk.

Maybe just cutting off a side of one would work. Or down the center leaving a full handhold on each end. Again would need to be good strong quality.

And would lack the $315 better cool factor. For another $5 you could zip tie on a harbor freight clamp to really reduce the coolness.

Why not normal brick tongs? They are $30 at the orange box.

Yes, your relatives/friends and a case of beer

Brick tongs are like $25 on Amazon and do the same thing.

You really want to move only 4 pavers at a time?

  6. so basically I think the guy that said wheel barrow is smart and anyone who buys this thing for $320 is actually dumb

Back in the day, I’d have my son and his buddies help me out. It was a good workout for them, and they earned some cash.

Machine shop and some willpower. Give machine shop a cardboard cutout of each piece. Have them cut the shapes out, you drill the holes.

Add up the expenses to see if they reach $320.

Menards has something like that for like $20 but you have to turn the bricks on their sides to grab 6 to 10. I’m not sure why you have to carry them vertical. If you have to have it that way you could find a shop with a CNC water jet, show the pictures to the salesmen and get a quote to see if it’s cheaper. The key to getting a cheaper quote would be to tell the salesmen that you’ll make a functional one out of cardboard and have a full scale or half scale drawing for the shop to reference and use for CAD.

I modified some tongs to move Blu60 and Mega Melville, the pave-tech stuff is nice but way expensive.

The style they have really only works for the pavers mentioned or those 4×8’s, you can get a paver cart but it also only works with certain style pavers.

If it’s in a really awkward spot to get to, pail, wheelbarrows or hand carts are likely going to be cheapest. Otherwise forks on a mini skid.

So you can carry 4 at a time. Lol no thanks. That’s like seeing a drinking glass and thinking that’s a great way to fill a bath tub, and the glass is $300. Get a large wheel barrow

  12. I own so much Pavetool and not a single thing is cheap, but it’s all worth it. That tool saves a lot of time, and wear and tear on the guys back. It pays for itself on the first job. It may not be a return you can track but it’s absolutely there.

Pavetool is also VERY high quality and will last a lifetime of heavy use. If you’re a full time serious hardscaper then you should buy this tool.

Also, Pavetool is owned by a family who runs a huge landscape company. They design, build, and test the tools in real works applications.

use a wheelbarrow, I find these are only useful for people that work at masonry stores for when they transfer pavers from or to pallets/vehicles
