Today, Rachel is here to tell us about some flowers that do great in shady spots. This client’s flower bed consists of a Japanese maple, with torenia and begonia planted under it. Not only do these plants bloom beautifully in part or even full shade, they also attract pollinators like hummingbirds.

hey it’s Rachel with Matthews Landscape i’m an account manager and licensed horiculturist i’m here at a feature garden at a client’s home where we have a beautiful Japanese maple with a shade selection of annual plants sometimes it’s pretty difficult to find blooming plants that are suitable for shade that are going to give you blooms all season long two of my favorites are terriia also known as wishbone plant and green leaf beonia these will bloom all summer long and they take part to full shade full shade is just fine and you’re going to get plenty of blooms from them one of my particular favorites is terinia and that’s because it is a big attractant for our hummingbirds so if you have feeders around your yard and you add in some terrinia it’s going to bring more interest to them and they’re going to be flying throughout your property and you’ll be able to see a lot more and interact with them so if you have a very shady spot and you want some pops of color Terrinia and Beonia are a great choice for you [Music]
