GRANGER, Ind. (WNDU) – LOGAN is hosting a garden party in Granger on Friday night, but this is more than just a party.

This is an event that brings the community together and raises funds for the Sonya Ansari Center for Autism.

It started 20 years ago in a small lake house with six families. Now, around 550 people are expected to be at Friday night’s fundraiser.

“We started this garden party almost about twenty years ago. It was attended by very few people when we started. And now, today, there is going to be somewhere close to 550 people. They had to close the attendance to this party because they could not handle it,” said Dr. Rafat Ansari, founder of the Sonya Ansari Center for Autism.

WNDU’s Joshua Short is serving as the emcee. He spoke with Dr. Rafat Ansari ahead of Friday night’s event to tell us about the importance of it and how it’s evolved over the past 20 years. You can learn more by watching the video below!
