Someone brought these cuttings into my work, and they are obviously struggling hard. Is there a way to save the roots and revive the leaves?
They've been here for 3 days, in tap water, a few feet adjacent to a bright, east facing window. I don't know any of their story before they arrived here.
I would really appreciate any suggestions at all.

I say yes. Just leave them be and see how the roots do after a few weeks even. I might rinse the roots, fill water as needed and hope for the best. There are already some little roots there so chances are good it will be fine. I don’t have a lot of windows in my house, but I do have 2 north facing ones that I have a lot of success with propping in. I’ve never propped in an east facing window so I can’t speak to that.
I’d remove the dirt in photo 3 from the roots, but other than that I’m not sure what you’re concerned about?
In my experience growth like that (in the roots) means the plant will survive, but it will probably lose the leaves it already has. I could be totally wrong tho and the whole thing might be good, I wouldn’t think the whole thing will die tho, just the leaves might, the rest looks healthy! Also I leave the wilty leaves on until they’re totally brown cuz I’ve heard the plant will suck the nutrients/whatever out of them before they totally die, but I also don’t know if that’s correct or not, it just seems to work fine for me to leave them
Thank you very much, I appreciate your suggestions.
