My neighbor has erected a large greenhouse the legal distance from our property line required by law.- 3 feet.
The fan blows directly into our yard and driveway. It is about 25 feet from the screened in porch we use spring, summer and fall.
The sound is annoying, the heat is awful. I’ve been in touch with our city inspector and apparently this is all legal.
So it’s really an inconsiderate neighbor issue. He’s not going to move it but are there any other solutions?
I looked online to see if there was some contraption that would redirect the air flow but nothing that would work here.
Any suggestions?
I don’t want to be a jerk , I just don’t want to hear the fan all day and I don’t want to be blasted by the heat everything I go down the drive or go to my yard.

Have you talked to the neighbor about it? They may be able to make some adjustments for you. If that doesn’t work, you might be out of luck. You have a right to enjoyment of your property, but so do they.
you could offer to split/pay for a 90 degree exhaust hood that pushed the air out and down as opposed to straight out into your yard.
if lined with insulation it might also help kill some sound.

You might be able to put something on the vent to redirect the airflow away from your property.
Shade cloth can help reduce the heat in the summer, but can be cost prohibitive.
It’s hard to see the overall design of this greenhouse, but there are automatic vents that open part of the roof or sidewall automatically once the interior temperature reaches a certain threshold, and they don’t need electricity and are pretty affordable. [Here’s one option, but there are plenty of others.](https://a.co/d/gJO5QqT) These could reduce the amount that the electric vent needs to run, helping you out with heat and noise and your neighbor with their electric bill.
What if they flipped the fins (or entire trim box if needed) so that it points up instead of down towards your driveway?
That and maybe a higher quality fan that’s quite would likely help a ton
Could you plant some tall hedges or short trees right up next to the fence to make a “wall” that blocks the airflow and dampens the noise a bit? You could also maybe put in a small pond or a fountain with a water feature. If you’re going to have to deal with noise it might as well be a nice noise. If a fountain is too pricey you could hang some wind chimes on that tree. Then your neighbors will get to enjoy the sounds of their greenhouse fan, too!
Put an air freshener in front of it. At least it’ll smell good.
